LA JOLLA

La Jolla is a fascinating community. Much is written about this storied place, often called San Diego’s sparkling jewel. The name probably derives from the Spanish words la joya meaning “the jewel” or from the American Indian word woholle meaning “hole in the mountain”. Whatever the source, it is hard for words to capture this exquistie place of sandy beaches, natural cliffs, brilliant blue green waters and flowering hillsides.
