A/N:

I received a question on Twitter: “Did Yuri-kunchan buy something with the 10 million yen he stole from the devs?”

The answer is yes.
Yuri-kunchan apparently took his parents and grandpa who works at an illegal money-lending company to a sushi restaurant with the money he stole.
How filial, isn’t he?

[Your Idol Is Visiting, Grimm-chan!]

“Grrrrrrr… damn those devs! The photobook is released for ‘publicity’ purposes, they say; bah, they’re doing this to shame me, I’m sure of it?! They had made me practically powerless with the shitty update too, just what did I do to deserve all this…?!”

“Ahaha… well, putting the former aside, there is no helping with the latter’s case, right? Even if it wasn’t Yuri-san, if they let the existence of a player with the power to massacre 30,000 people be, it would destroy the balance of the game, after all.”

A while after I received an underhanded counterattack from the shitty devs.
I was walking with Francoise in the ‘Beginning Town’.

Francoise was my benefactor who’d supported me from the beginning but I never talked much with her, so I was thinking of using this opportunity to chat with her for once.

“I feel bad for the devs, but even if they keep nerfing me, I will never step down from the top.
With determination, guts, and a little creativity, everything is possible.
My getting a city is the proof of that.”

“Hm~m… but I think your ‘little creative creativity’ is just too out of the box…

“On a more serious note, however, I could never have imagined you would grow to be such an amazing player, Yuri-san.
Honestly, somewhere in my heart I at first thought it would be impossible for you to become a top player given your circumstances.” Francoise smiled, looking a little apologetic.

Well, there were a lot of people who were all talk out there.
But of course, as a true man, I would never give in to my circumstances.
Going forward, I was gonna continue to fight the evil devs and squeezed out their money from time to time, too. Don’t you go bankrupt on me, okay?

Now then, my immediate goal was to win the next guild war.
So, I asked Francoise to make new equipment for me and at the same time invited her to join my guild, but…

“You know, Francoise, I actually was thinking of inviting you to join my guild before we went out.”

“Were you really…? I’m sorry Yuri-san, had you invited me, I would have declined.
The reason is… you should know by now, right?”

“Yeah.
You want to support the newbies who don’t know their way around yet just like me before, right?”

It was easy to tell from seeing the crowd on the street.
Many people with initial equipment were walking down the wide stone road.
The sight truly hit me with the fact that there had been more than 100,000 new players starting the game in the past few days.

Normally speaking, if there were so many people in a VR game where everything from the senses to the graphics was so realistic, it would only be natural for the game to lag.
The fact that I could feel no such thing just went to show how amazing the devs (on the technical side of things) were.

While acknowledging the devs’ skills, I continued “Strictly speaking, I still count as a newbie, too, though.
It hasn’t even been two weeks since I started playing the game, after all.
But then again, compared to someone like me who is in no way lacking in money or weapons, most, if not all, other newbies need your help more.”

“Fufu, as expected of Yuri-san.
I’m glad you are so understanding.

“That said, there is a girl I’d like to recommend to you, Yuri-san.
She isn’t at all lacking compared to me.
…Here.” Francoise said, pointing to a small hut.
It looked shabbier than the Urutaro’s, aka Wolf King’s, kennel, but its entrance had a sign that said ‘Queen of Creation Grimm’s Equipment Shop’.

Oh~, it was the shop of that blonde shortie.
But beta testers should have carried over their money.
For her to only be able to afford a hut like this… her items really didn’t sell, huh.
The hut didn’t have even a door, only a short sign curtain hanging at the entrance like at the izakaya.

“Pardon my intrusion~,” Francoise entered familiarly.

“Hmm, well done coming here, visitor! You are my first guest of the day… wait, Francoise?! A-are you here to collect my debt?!”

“I’m not, so please stop shaking… A friend of mine is looking for a guild member and you came to my mind, so I brought her here to introduce you to her.”

“Muh, you want to introduce me to your friend? Fufu, just to remind you, I’m a supreme genius craftswoman.
I’m not going to subordinate myself to any random person.
If I have to serve someone, I will only serve the terrifying yet beautiful, Great Demon King Yuri-dono~!”

“That’s me.”

“Eh, waaaaaaaaaaaaaa?!”

When I entered the shop following Francoise, Grimm jumped while releasing a strange voice.

Francoise chuckled seeing that.
“Ufufufufufufufu! Now, Grimm, do your best to show off your prided items and try to win the favor of the Demon King! Well then, have fun you two~!”

Francoise gracefully left, her golden hair fluttering behind her.
I waved my hand at her, “See ya later~,” and then turned to Grimm who was shaking.
“As Francoise said, I’m looking for a skilled craftsman player for the guild war, so can you show me your items…?”

“A-awawawawawawawawa?!” Grimm went to hide her small body behind a pillar, her face turning bright red.
But it wasn’t because she hated me it seemed, as she muttered while trembling, “M-may I take a screenshot of you?!” and “You are much more beautiful than in the photobook~…”. Wait, you bought the photobook too?

Hmm, she won’t be able to talk properly in this state. I approached her, bent down, and spoke to her soothingly.

“How about you take some time to compose yourself first, Grimm? I’ll be waiting, I’m not in a hurry anyway.”

“Y-yeeeeesssshhh…!”

…it backfired.
Teary-eyed, Grimm trembled even harder, then her legs gave out, and she fell on her butt.

Will this girl really be helpful…?
