In the middle of a crowd, there stood a certain boy staring toward a platform with a gaze that showed his dreams, hope, and excitement.

That boy is known as Daniel with no surname as he grew up with his stepmom.

In fact, hes aware of how he was discovered by his mom in a certain place, and for that, his love for his mom wouldn lose to any children.

But despite growing up he still contained his innocence.

With silvery black hair and blue eyes, he has rather a peculiar appearance that attracts mommies and some onee-san.

Nevertheless, the reason why Daniel stood amongst the crowd is that today marks the ceremony of awakening.

A few thousand years ago, mankind suffered the worst catastrophe. Monsters of the unknown appeared through a cracked dimension called the gate.

It was a disaster where almost all the population disappeared if not for the appearance of the 10 Overlords.

The 10 Overlords awoken a powerful trait, so powerful that they were able to reclaim the lands of Earth within ten years.

And they spent the next hundred years redeveloping the lands and human population who began to awaken an ability.

Thus, the next thousand years were spent hunting the neverending appearance of gate and monsters, and till this day, the monsters and gate remained unchanged threat.

This is why Daniel was excited about the ceremony since every child who reached 15 years can undergo an awakening.

”Alright, now that we have most of the children in the town, we shall proceed with the ceremony, first up Alex Cain! ”

A Priest spoke as he stood in front of 100 children, and beside him, some guards with armour.

For extra information, the technology had never staggered after the reclaim of lands since there were geniuses who awoke traits that enhanced technology and so on.

Thus, the armour on the guards looked rather modern, and this armour was called a battle suit.

It allowed them to fly with their jet booster, and also create swords made from energy or shoot energy beams.

When the priest called up the first man, a boy who looked nervous walked towards the platform where there is a stand with a white orb on top of it.

”Don look nervous, this is a day when a young child like should be proud ” The priest encouraged after seeing the nervous child trembling.

”Go ahead and put your hand on the child and leave the rest to the orb ” The priest guided.

”Y-Yes priest ” The bot nodded his head vigorously and placed his hand on the orb afterwards.

Immediately, the orb began to shine in the essence of gold. With his eyes plastered on the orb, the priest was shocked by the result.

”I-Its an S-Rank Trait! ” The priest cried and instantly, the crowd exploded into shock.

”Did I hear it right!? S-Rank!? ”

”I can believe it! ”

”Isn this amazing, how could we expect Alex to awaken such a high-rank ability! ”

”If he awakened S-Ranks ability, his future would be tremendous! ”

The crowd began to gossip and little by little all of them were keen on being friends with him. After all, an S-Rank is bound to have a huge fortune in the future.

The ranks of traits after awakening will be according to these ranks which start with the weakest rank, F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS, Epic, Legendary, Omega, and the strongest rank which is the Cosmo Rank.

To put it in perspective, if someone whos in the F rank decides to punch a tree, nothing would happen except for the pain in his first.

However, if a cosmo rank decided to punch the tree, not only would the tree disappear, but the planet along with it.

Moreover, there aren any methods or technologies that can improve the rank of traits as your fate will be decided through your trait.

After all, how traits work is that if Alex had awakened an S-Rank Trait, he would have received the strength, defence, mana as well as agility from the might of Rank S.

For monsters who are weaker than S rank, Alex wouldn have any trouble dealing with the monsters.

But of course, its not like he can just go out and hunt monsters. Hell need to start learning how to control his strength and understanding his trait.

The priest explained, and Alex decided not to reveal it since an awakening trait is rather a sensitive topic.

When Alex rushed down to his parents, they could see them balling their eyes out with their tears ruining their faces.

”Come here my boy, you truly made your mom proud, ” His mother said as she embraced him tightly as though he was her most treasured person.

Eventually, the priest called the next person out, the next person, and the next person.

After 80 or more children had passed, they only had 2 reactions, its either they were proud or they became saddened.

Their parents tried comforting them, but it was of no use. After seeing the S-Rank, they thought they could be him too.

To them, who could have thought that reality can be disappointing, and its a lesson that will either grow them or stagnate their growth?

Eventually, when all kinds of children had awakened their trait, it was Daniels turn after seeing countless reactions had prepared himself for the better or worse.
